CookCircle Terms of Use

1. Eligibility and guardian consent

You must be at least 13 years old to use CookCircle. If the law where you live requires a higher minimum age, you must meet that age requirement.

If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms on your behalf and supervise your use of the service.

2. Your account

You are responsible for providing accurate information, protecting your credentials, and all activity performed through your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

You may not impersonate another person, create an account for someone without permission, evade an enforcement action, or sell or transfer your account.

3. Content you share

You retain ownership of recipes, photos, comments, profile information, kitchen names, and other content you submit. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to share that content.

You grant CookCircle a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt for technical display, distribute, and display your content solely to operate, improve, promote, and protect the service according to your chosen visibility settings.

You may remove your content using available product controls, subject to reasonable backup, safety, legal, and audit-retention needs.

4. Community responsibilities

You must follow the Community Guidelines and all applicable laws. Do not post content that is unlawful, deceptive, dangerous, abusive, exploitative, infringing, or harmful to other people.

Recipe and food information is shared by community members and is not professional medical, nutritional, or food-safety advice. Use appropriate judgment regarding allergies, dietary restrictions, preparation temperatures, and safe handling.

5. Reporting, blocking, and moderation

CookCircle provides tools to report users, recipes, and comments and to block other users. Do not misuse reporting tools or submit knowingly false reports.

We may review content and account activity, limit visibility, remove or restore content, issue warnings, suspend or terminate accounts, preserve evidence, or contact appropriate authorities when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users, or comply with law.

6. Intellectual property

Do not upload content that infringes copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights. We may remove allegedly infringing material and restrict repeat infringers.

Send intellectual-property notices to jhongarcian@gmail.com with identification of the protected work, the allegedly infringing material, your contact details, and a good-faith statement that your notice is accurate and authorized.

7. Service availability and changes

CookCircle may change, suspend, or discontinue features and may impose reasonable limits needed for security, reliability, legal compliance, or product development. We do not promise that the service will always be available or error-free.

8. Third-party services

CookCircle may rely on third-party authentication, hosting, storage, links, or platform services. Their products and terms are controlled by those providers, and CookCircle is not responsible for third-party content or services outside our control.

9. Termination

You may stop using CookCircle and request account deletion through available settings. We may suspend or terminate access when you violate these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, or when required by law.

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including content licenses already needed for backups or legal records, disclaimers, limitations, and dispute terms—will survive.

10. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CookCircle is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CookCircle and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, or harm arising from user content, recipes, food preparation, or third-party conduct.

Some jurisdictions do not allow particular exclusions or limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

12. Updates to these policies

We may update these Terms or the Community Guidelines. When a material or required version changes, CookCircle will show the new effective date and require you to accept the current version before continuing to use authenticated features.

13. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where consumer law requires otherwise.
